Fast business loans: the decision times lenders publish

Quick business loans compared on the lenders' own numbers

The fastest business loans are unsecured loans from online lenders that read your bank statements electronically: Bizcap publishes approval within 3 hours and funding the same day, Prospa a response in as little as one hour in business hours, and OnDeck and Lumi same-day funding. Loans secured by property are the slowest, because the lender has to value the security first. How fast yours funds depends on the lender, the amount and how quickly you provide bank access, ID and BAS.

Inclusion is editorial reference, not a recommendation. Rates change often, so we only show a rate we captured from the lender's own page in the last 60 days, with a link to that page; otherwise we link to the lender's rate card where it publishes one. Fast business loans at a glance
  • Unsecured online loans are fastest: decisions in minutes to hours and funding from the same day to one business day, as each lender publishes
  • Banks' online loans decide in minutes: NAB QuickBiz an instant decision; ANZ GoBiz conditional approval in 20 minutes or less, funds within 2 business days of signing
  • Invoice finance is quick once set up: Fifo Capital publishes a 24-hour set-up and same-day advances
  • Property-secured loans take longest because the lender values the property first
  • Speed costs: higher rates, shorter terms and daily or weekly repayments

Which quick business loans fund fastest, and why?

Speed comes from how the lender assesses you. A lender that reads your bank data through a secure connection and lends without security can decide in minutes; a lender that needs financial statements, a valuation and security documents cannot.

Unsecured loans from online lenders: hours

The online lenders built their process around speed. They assess six months or more of bank statements electronically, lend without property security, and publish decisions in minutes or hours with funding from the same day. See unsecured business loans for their limits and floors.

Banks' online business loans: minutes to decide, days to fund

NAB QuickBiz and ANZ GoBiz decide online in minutes on your bank or accounting data. NAB publishes that funds are available instantly on a business day once you are approved and have accepted the documents; ANZ publishes funds within 2 business days of returning the signed documents.

Lines of credit and overdrafts: fast to set up, instant to draw

Once a limit is approved, drawing on it is immediate. Lumi publishes same-day approval and funding on its line of credit, and Shift approval within hours on overdraft limits under $500,000. For recurring gaps, a business line of credit set up in advance beats a rushed loan each time.

Invoice finance: quick once the facility exists

Setting up the facility is the slow part; after that, each invoice can be funded quickly. Fifo Capital publishes a 24-hour facility set-up and same-day advances on its selective invoice finance, and Earlypay aims to advance within 24 hours of approval. See invoice finance.

Secured and property loans: the slowest

A loan secured by property needs a valuation, title searches and security documents before it settles, which adds days to weeks. It is also usually the cheapest, so if the deadline allows, it is worth the wait.

What speeds do lenders publish?

Each figure is the lender's own published claim, read on its website on 30 September 2026, with the condition it attaches. A published speed is a best case for a complete, approved application, not a guarantee for every file.

What slows a business loan application down?

  • Uploading statements instead of connecting your bank. Prospa publishes that uploaded copies take longer than its bank verification link; Bizcap that linking statements fast-tracks approval.
  • Applying outside business hours. Prospa's one-hour response applies to applications made during standard business hours.
  • Books that are not up to date. ANZ GoBiz asks for six months of reconciled accounting data, and Earlypay's 24-hour approval aim applies to Xero or MYOB AccountRight users.
  • Asking for more than the unsecured limit. Above a lender's unsecured ceiling (Prospa asks for property ownership above $150,000; Shift assesses limits from $500,000 on financials) the file needs security or financial statements.
  • Security that needs a valuation. Property takes days to weeks to value and document.
  • Credit or ATO issues. A default or tax debt on the file means more questions, or a different lender.
  • Missing documents. ID for every director, the ABN details and the loan purpose, ready before you start.

What should you have ready?

  • Photo ID for each director or owner
  • Your ABN or ACN, and GST registration details
  • Online banking access for the business account, to connect six months or more of statements
  • Your last four BAS, and accounting software reconciled to date
  • The amount, the purpose and the term you want
  • Details of any ATO payment plan or existing business loans

What does a fast business loan cost?

Higher rates

Fast loans are mostly unsecured, and unsecured lending prices above secured lending because the lender has no asset to fall back on. Many online lenders quote a total repayment figure rather than a rate, so ask for the total cost in dollars.

Short terms and big repayments

Short terms keep total interest down but push the repayment up. On $50,000 at 20% p.a., a 1-year term costs about $4,632 a month and $5,581 in interest; a 3-year term about $1,858 a month but $16,894 in interest.

Daily or weekly collections

Many online lenders collect daily or weekly. Check the collections fit your cash cycle, because a missed debit costs more than the rate difference between lenders.

Does a broker make a business loan faster?

The lender sets the timeframe. What a broker adds is knowing which lender's criteria and published speed fit your file before anything is lodged, so you are not declined by the fastest lender and left starting again with the second. It also keeps unnecessary enquiries off your credit file.

What is the monthly payment on a $50,000 business loan?

Over 3 years, about $1,613 a month at 10% p.a., $1,733 at 15% p.a. and $1,988 at 25% p.a., before fees. Fast unsecured loans from online lenders usually sit toward the higher end.

Fast business loan FAQs

How fast can I get a business loan?
From the same day to several weeks, depending on the lender and the security. Bizcap publishes approval within 3 hours and funding the same day on its fast and small business loans, OnDeck same-day funding on Lightning Loans, and Moula funding within 24 hours or one business day. A loan secured by property takes longer because the lender values the property first.
Can I get a business loan the same day?
Some lenders publish same-day funding: Bizcap, OnDeck on its Lightning Loans, and Lumi up to $1M, while Prospa says funds can arrive in as little as an hour after settlement. Each depends on applying during business hours with your bank account connected online and your ID and BAS ready, and on the application being approved.
What is the quickest business loan to get?
Usually a smaller unsecured loan from an online lender that reads your bank data electronically, or, if you already bank with them and meet the criteria, a bank's online product: NAB publishes an instant decision on QuickBiz loans from $5,000 to $250,000. Invoice finance is also quick once the facility is set up, with Fifo Capital publishing same-day advances.
Do fast business loans check your credit?
Expect one. Fast lenders still check the directors' credit files and publish credit criteria: OnDeck, for example, requires no major credit issues such as a recent bankruptcy or tax enforcement action. What makes them fast is reading bank data electronically, not skipping the credit assessment.
Are fast business loans more expensive?
Usually, yes. Fast unsecured loans price above secured lending, run on short terms (Capify publishes 3 to 12 months, OnDeck 6 to 30 months) and often collect daily or weekly. A short term also means a high repayment: $50,000 at 20% p.a. is about $4,632 a month over 1 year against $1,858 over 3 years. Compare the total repaid, not just the speed.
What documents do I need for a fast business loan?
Photo ID for each director, your ABN or ACN, and access to six months of business bank statements, ideally through the lender's secure bank connection rather than uploaded copies. Some lenders also want recent BAS, and banks' online products connect to your accounting software instead.
What is the monthly payment on a $50,000 business loan?
Over 3 years, about $1,613 a month at 10% p.a., $1,733 at 15% p.a. and $1,988 at 25% p.a., before fees. Fast unsecured loans from online lenders usually sit toward the higher end.

WARNING: This comparison rate is true only for the example given and may not include all fees and charges. Different terms, fees, or other loan amounts might result in a different comparison rate. Comparison rates are calculated on a secured loan of $150,000 over 25 years for home loans, a loan of $30,000 over 5 years for car and personal loans, and $50,000 over 5 years for equipment finance, unless the lender states another basis.
