How it works
Step 1: Answer a few quick questions
About 60 seconds. Pick your business and the register fills in the ABN and GST dates.
Step 2: Get connected with a broker
A licensed broker who works your kind of lending calls within one business day, already knowing your answers.
Step 3: Get options tailored to your business
Lenders tailor rates, terms and structure to your business, so what comes back is built for you, not a generic estimate.
We don’t lend, and we don’t sell finance.
Your Finance Guide is a finance education publisher. We are not a lender, a broker or a credit provider. This check exists because the first thing most owners hear from a lender is a decline, after a hard credit enquiry, when a five-minute read of policy would have pointed them at the right lender to begin with.
So the check costs nothing and takes about a minute. Then we connect you with a licensed broker who works your kind of lending. They call within one business day, already knowing your answers, so the conversation starts at the right lender instead of at square one.

Frequently asked questions
What is a business loan?
Money lent to a business rather than a person, repaid from the business’s cash flow. Unsecured business loans are approved on trading history and bank statements, usually within a day or two, with no property put up. Secured loans and asset finance use property or the thing you are buying as security and price lower for it.
What can I use a business loan for?
Cash flow and working capital, stock and supplies, equipment, vehicles, a line of credit for the quiet months, tax debt, a fit-out, a second location, or hiring ahead of a contract. Lenders care less about the purpose than about whether the business can carry the repayments, though equipment and vehicles are usually cheaper to fund as asset finance because the asset is the security.
What are the different types of business finance?
Unsecured term loans, secured term loans, lines of credit and overdrafts, invoice finance, and asset finance (chattel mortgage, hire purchase, lease and rental) for equipment and vehicles. Each has its own lender panel and its own rules. The check reads your answers against those rules so the broker starts at the right product.
Am I eligible for a business loan?
Most unsecured lenders want an ABN active for 12 months, turnover of about $10,000 a month, and a reasonably clean credit file; a few write from six months of trading at smaller amounts. Asset finance is easier again, since the equipment or vehicle is the security. Defaults, tax debt or a short trading history narrow the panel rather than close it. The check gives the broker exactly these facts.
What documents do I need to apply?
For an unsecured loan, usually photo ID and six months of business bank statements, read electronically so there is nothing to print. Larger amounts or bank-grade pricing add financial statements and tax returns. Asset finance under about $150,000 to $250,000 is often written low-doc on ID, ABN history and the quote or invoice for the asset.
Can I refinance existing business or equipment finance?
Yes. Refinancing a business loan, consolidating several facilities into one, or refinancing equipment and vehicles is common, especially when the original finance was written in a hurry or at a rate the business has since outgrown. Tell the broker what you have now and they will set the cost of switching against the saving.
How quickly can I get approved?
Unsecured lenders that read bank statements can approve within 24 to 48 hours and fund the same day. Asset finance on a standard asset is usually one to three business days. Loans that need financials, property security or a valuation take longer. The broker calls within one business day of your check, already knowing your answers, so the clock starts sooner.
Is this a credit check?
No. Your answers only decide which broker should call you. Nothing is sent anywhere until you submit your details, and even then no credit enquiry happens until you authorise a specific lender application.
